Refund and Returns Policy
At Bargain Buddies, we strive to provide you with high-quality products and excellent service. This Refund and Returns Policy is governed by, and must be read in conjunction with, the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”). Nothing in this policy is intended to limit or exclude any rights you may have under applicable South African law. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please review our policy below:
- Eligibility for Refunds and Returns Refunds and returns are available under the following conditions: The item must be returned in its original condition, unused, and in the original packaging, with all tags and labels attached. Refund or return requests must be initiated within 9 (seven) days of the delivery date. This is without prejudice to your statutory cooling-off right under section 44 of the ECTA, which entitles you to cancel an electronic transaction without reason or penalty within 7 (seven) days of receiving the goods. Proof of purchase (e.g., order confirmation or invoice) must accompany all return and refund requests.
- Refund Process Initiate Request: To request a refund, please contact us at shop@bargainbuddies.co.za with your order number and reason for return. Approval: Once your refund request is approved, we will provide instructions for returning the item. Processing: Refunds will be processed within 7 (seven) business days of receiving the returned item. Please note that your bank or payment provider may take additional time to reflect the refund in your account.
- Exclusions The following items are non-refundable, except where the goods are defective or where a refund is required by law: Items marked as "Final Sale" or "Non-Returnable." Items that have been used, altered, or damaged by the customer (other than damage caused during delivery). Products returned outside of the refund period. Perishable goods, personal care items, and hygiene products that have been opened or unsealed.
- Return Shipping Costs Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Only if the item is defective or was incorrectly delivered will Bargain Buddies bear the cost of return shipping in accordance with section 56 of the CPA. Retain proof of shipping for tracking purposes.
- Damaged or Defective Items In terms of section 56 of the CPA, all goods sold carry an implied warranty of quality for a period of 6 (six) months from the date of delivery. If a defect is discovered within this period, you are entitled, at your election, to have the goods repaired, replaced, or to receive a full refund. Please notify us as soon as reasonably practicable after discovering the defect and provide proof of damage or the defect (e.g., photographs). Bargain Buddies will collect or arrange the return of defective goods at its own cost.
- Your Rights under the Consumer Protection Act This policy does not limit, exclude, or override any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other applicable legislation. In terms of the CPA, you have the right to: (a) receive goods that are of good quality, in good working order, and free of defects (section 55); (b) return defective goods within 6 (six) months of delivery for repair, replacement, or a refund at your election (section 56); and (c) cancel a transaction concluded through direct marketing (including online purchases) within 5 (five) business days of receiving the goods, without reason or penalty (section 16 read with section 44 of the CPA). These rights are in addition to the rights set out elsewhere in this policy.
